Check to see if there's anything wrong with the switch. If not, replace it and reinstall everything using these instructions: First, reattach the cover by putting on one screw and then pushing down on it until it clicks into place. Replace both screws and push down on the cover until it clicks into place again. Reinstall the trim around the handle by putting on one screw from behind and holding onto it with your other hand as you push down on the trim from above. Replace both screws and make sure everything is tight by gently pressing against each side of the trim with your fingers. Finally, reconnecting the wire should be easy since there's only one connection point left: just twist it back onto itself and connect it to where it was before
